Grace: Opposites attract.
Rich: That’s magnets. We’re people.
Why I’m so upset with this season of Skins.
I still feel sick about the ending of last nights episode.
But eventually I’ll write a more level headed review about it….and predictions for the last episode, even though I’m still bitter and said I wouldn’t.
A lot of you are sending me asks in regards to why I’m so upset about everything and here is why:
- It’s pretty clear to me that Grace is dead, and we were simply led on for 8 episodes (in hopes of more ratings) with the falsity that she might still somehow be alive.
- The last episode is surrounding the one person I’ve come to honestly dislike the most this series.
- The scenes with Rich this episode broke my heart into a million pieces, but on the same note - we have not seen NEARLY enough of him this season, all things considered, and I don’t foresee that changing in the last episode.
- What bothers me about the last EP is how are you going to give 8 characters an equal amount of screen time and closure in one hour? You cant. That’s why Skins should be like every other good show that’s come to an end and close the season with a 2 hour special.
- I just have this gut wrenching feeling that they are honestly going the still birth route with Mini. I know they think that’s the edgy thing to do, but they could not be more wrong. Its fucking horrific. The fans want to see Mini happy, and her baby healthy. Anyone that doesn’t want that outcome for her character is a sick fuck in my opinion. There is nothing “edgy” about a woman having a still birth. I think its almost too disturbing and too tragic of a topic to END a series with. And on another note - hasn’t this season already been depressing enough? I mean honestly…..
- To me, it just doesn’t feel like enough happened this series. Everything felt very stagnant and now, in the last 2 episodes, it feels rushed. Ive chalked this up to the fact that there are multiple writers for this show, and that clearly all the writers are not on the same page. I have a feeling they might even write their episodes alone, for the most part ignoring the scripts of previous episodes.
